Alsail Recyclers Pvt. Ltd., (ARPL), is a start-up industry engaged in recycling of graded aluminium ingots to cater the requirement of cast aluminium product industry. AARI collaborates with Sri Ramakrishna Engineering College (SREC), Coimbatore for recyling of aluminium scraps with green engineering, circular economy catering to the new recycling policy to be implemented by the Govt. of India. AARI-SREC is engaged in DST sponsored research project for setting up of the pilot plant in SREC for the supply of high purity graded aluminium ingots with better mechanical and metallurgical properties than the conventional recycled aluminium ingots.
The pilot plant, is installed with three aluminium melting cum holding furnaces with the capacities of 500 kgs, 100 kgs (2 nos). The quality of the melt is ensured by undertaking chemical, mechanical and metallurgical studies. The chemical testing with 28 different elements is identified with the OESS Spectromaxx LMF-007 (Ametek Instruments, Germany). In addition, to substantiate the quality of the melt, the universal tensile testing machine and hardness testing will be carried out. The metallurgical studies were undertaken with the aid of porosity tester at the start of the melt and microstructure for predicting the grain size, grain boundary and structure of the melt.
